MY SELLABAND ANNOUNCEMENT!
After many sleepless nights of thinking, of soul searching and teeth grinding, after buying a new dress and then calming down, and especially, after discussing with many respected advisors and friends, I have decided to stay on Sellaband and continue with my current Promotional Project… and see it through.
For those of you who were not aware, Sellaband now has new ownership and so there has been some changes made to the Terms & Conditions.
To name the 3 significant changes from the old Terms and Conditions, I have borrowed the following words from artist friend Aryn Michelle
1) The artists are going to give up 15% of their budget back to SellaBand now (Under the old T&Cs, the artists had 10% of their budget go back to SAB)
2) There is now going to be a 10% fee on top of all deposits which does not include credit card or paypal fees. (This change will not so much effect believers buying a small number of parts, but may more dramatically effect those buying large numbers of parts)
3) From now on believers have a 2 week window to remove funds with no questions. After that they will only be able to move funds from project to project. This means that you will not be able to remove money from the site after two weeks of the initial deposit.
Due to a few of these changes and uncertainties, I can tell you that this has not been an easy decision for me to make. But the truth is that Sellaband has become much more than just a place of business for me, it has been a platform to surround myself with friends and supporters who believe in the magic of music and believe in the magic of a dream. I do not want to let any one down… and so I shall continue as before with the Plan
That said, I URGE all of my current and potential believers to not follow me blindly, but to do what seems reasonable for them. If this means reducing the amount invested in my project, then I will completely understand, no hard feelings whatsoever. I cannot give any guarantees though I do feel that the new CEO of Sellaband, Michael Bogatzki, has good intentions and will surely do his best to make this wonderful platform a success. After all, change was inevitable. I for one, wish him and his team all the best with this grand task because I have and always will believe in the concept brought to life by Pim Betist, Johan Vosmeijer and Dagmar Heijmans.
To invest in my project is your choice, so please do what feels right for you.
As for all of my believers who have helped me achieve the goal with my first Selland profile project which enable me to re record my very first album “Once upon a dream”, I want you to know that I will continue to honour our first partnership agreement, even though I am told that the recent changes have rendered the contract obsolete. I do not need a piece of paper to remind me of all that you have done for me and my music and that I am forever thankful. So the terms of our album revenue sharing remain in tact, and if I have to sign a new contract with Sellaband GmbH to make this official, then I will. After all, we are a team… and we stick together.

I can only say how relieved I am that I didn’t pull my parts…thank God! I would have felt way more horrible than I already do, but now that you have made up your mind, you can rest assured knowing that you have my complete support and you always will! So, what do you say…full speed ahead! eh?
