And The Wait Is… OVER!!
[singlepic=81,320,240,,left] On February 5th, I sent my first born, my debut album called “Once upon a dream”, into the online world hoping she will find her way. Luckily, my album has her Believers to greet her and she has been very anxious to meet all of them!
I can hardly believe all that has happened in the last couple of years. I have much to be grateful for and I have learned so much throughout this whole recording process, finally getting the chance to bring my songs up to how I heard them in my head. I realize now just how passionate I am about this whole side of music that I am already projecting ideas in my head for baby #2 (even though that won’t take place for another while)!
Going into the studio was an exciting and, at the same time, frightening experience. I was so eager to get to work but yet I knew of the struggles that were presumably ahead of me. An artist finds out what they are truly made of in this type of situation when their artistry gets stripped down, poked at, cut into tiny pieces, and examined with a magnifying glass. I can be very hard on myself, that is a fact, but luckily for me, I have been surrounded by professionals who are also good human beings and have created a working space for me to feel comfortable in, even as exposed as I may have been at times. My producer Daniel Cinelli knew that he could push me further and further and sometimes, even the breaking point is a venue for growth and understanding (I thought I was going to drop to the ground from emotional fatigue after recording the vocal track for “All”!). My musicians were all top notch and they also went through something fairly intense as parts were constantly getting rewritten just before recording and sometimes, after long hours of nonstop studio work, day after day.
Even the visual aspects of the album were demanding in some ways. The night of the photo shoot, my art director Sebastien Malherbe, photographer Benoit Champagne (Mr Schultz), husband and manager Jocelyn Arsenault, stylist Chloé Compte, and I were up working ‘til 3 in the morning because we could only start shooting when it was night due to lighting issues. The whole album jacket took hours and hours…and hours of work from deciding on the initial visual direction to take to deciding on the smallest detail… or choosing the right font… but that does not mean that there won’t be any typos or anything (it’s ON the train and not one the train! I think I went blind on that one!). lol
Throughout everything, I have had my SellaBand team by my side. My main guys Chris Kroner (music manager) and Adam Sieff (A&R) have been so easy to deal with and always ready to help out.
So this is it; the wait is over. To you my dear Believers who have made all of this possible, I can only hope that you will be as proud as I am of “Once upon a dream”.
To those who will decide to purchase the album, I thank-you for supporting this unknown artist and for making my music live on.
Take a moment just for you, a few deep, relaxed breaths, and dive into the sounds that may take you on a journey. So please, play her… as loud as you want to!!
Angie

Let me be the first to send you a message on this topic and tell you, as well as everyone who will read this, that working with you was simple joy, easy (yes I know we did work late and a lot of work done after too, but all done with your grace in mind) and most importantly a learning experience for me ! You have shown so much spirit, determination and good heart that following the wave was just a matter of letting ourselves submerge in your grace and aura !
Your message above is just a tiny example of your huge heart; your touching soul spreading its light around you and bringing joy in the heart of lost boats in this black sea ! Your music, through its deep emotional images yet with waltzing notes, simply brings light in the shadows of our life. Let us dream once upon with you
I, for one, can say you have changed my life … forever !
Forever your blessed friend…
“Le coeur est un être sans raison;
Il ne fait qu’à sa façon.
Par flots, il peut faire couler
Un sang chaud pour réchauffer,
Tel que cette chaleur puisse servir à autrui
Par une parcelle de celle-ci.”

and such is your heart Angie !
